Portugal has 3,544 cases of Covid-19. Number of deaths rises to 60

The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Portugal rose to 3,544, while the number of coronavirus deaths rose to 60 by midnight.

Health authorities discovered 549 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, increasing the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Portugal from 2,995 to 3,544. The data collected up to midnight also show that 17 more patients have died from the virus, 60 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of people recovered also increased, almost doubling, from 22 to 43, according to the latest information report from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). There are 191 people in hospital, less than in the latest data, and 61 in intensive care units, a number that has not changed.

Portugal has been in a state of emergency since midnight on March 18th and is to remain so until midnight on April 2nd.
