Ângelo Paupério, historical manager of Sonae, replaces Jorge Brito Pereira in the presidency of the board of directors of the telecommunications operator.

Ângelo Paupério, historical manager of Sonae, replaces Jorge Brito Pereira as chairman of Nos. Brito Pereira, Isabel dos Santos’ longtime lawyer, had resigned last week following the controversy surrounding Luanda Leaks.

“In a meeting of the board of directors held today, Angelo Paupério was elected chairman of the board of directors,” said Nos in a statement sent to the Portuguese regulator (CMVM) this Monday.

It should be noted that Jorge Brito Pereira announced the exit of the telecom last Thursday, along with two other non-executive directors connected to Isabel dos Santos: Mário Leite da Silva and Paula Oliveira. All three had been involved in the Luanda Leaks investigation, which exposed the financial schemes of the Angolan businesswoman in Portugal.
