Vista Alegre is spread throughout 60 countries and wants to reinforce its presence in the French market with "three to four stores" this year.

Vista Alegre will open a store in Paris next month for it’s brand Bordallo Pinheiro, which should have invoiced around six million euros last year, according to its administrator, Nuno Barra, to the Portuguese news agency Lusa.

“We will open a Bordallo store in February”, the administrator stated. Without disclosing the amount that will be invested, Nuno Barra stated the porcelain and crystal brand will open “between three and four stores” of the brand Bordallo Pinheiro in France this year. The administrator also disclosed they would “open a Bordallo store in Madrid” in February.

The Bordallo Pinheiro brand “has been having an exponential growth”: the estimate is that in 2017, the invoice would have reached “over six million euros”, he added. This estimate is justified by the expansion in the Bordallo Pinheiro factory, which will increase its ability to produce in 33%. In 2009, Bordallo Pinheiro was invoicing around 2.4 million euros.

Nuno Barra also highlights the fact that Vista Alegre won 17 design awards, which represents “a validation that the product development strategy is moving in the right direction”.

On the possibility of increasing the free float of Vista Alegre, a company that has been listed in the stock market for 30 years, the administrator only stated: “We are very interested in increasing our free float, we just don’t know how much or when that would happen”.
