DKV Mobility to build Porto tech hub with 150 jobs
Germany’s DKV Mobility is opening a data and AI tech hub in Porto, aiming to hire about 150 specialists by 2027 to support products used across Europe.
German fleet management and business mobility group DKV Mobility is setting up a technology hub in Porto focused on data and artificial intelligence, with plans to hire about 150 specialists by the end of 2027. The team will work on products and services used across the company’s European operations, not just the local market.
The company began work on the new centre in April and is currently being supported by Capgemini in the initial phase. DKV Mobility said the first specialists are already in place and expects the Porto operation to reach around 50 people by the end of this year, before expanding to roughly 150 by the end of 2027.
The Porto hub will bring together data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, analytics engineers and product managers, as well as roles linked to AI and data governance. According to the company, the team will help speed up the development of digital products and services in areas including fuel supply, EV charging and fleet management.
Jesper Erichsen, DKV Mobility’s chief technology and operating officer, told ECO the investment will amount to “many millions of euros” over the coming years. He said Porto was chosen after the company assessed 24 European cities, citing the availability of talent in data and AI, the local university base and links with other technology centres in the wider Porto, Braga and Aveiro region.
