A consortium that includes Mota-Engil's Brazilian subsidiary has signed a new contract worth €700 million with Brazil's Petrobras, to be completed in 50 months.

Mota-Engil has signed a new contract with Petrobras worth 4.4 billion reais (equivalent to around €700 million), it announced to the market on Monday.

In a statement to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), the Portuguese group said that its subsidiary Empresa Construtora Brasil (ECB), in a consortium in which it holds 33%, has signed a new contract with Petróleo Brasileiro, S.A. (Petrobras) worth 4.4 billion reais (around €700 million).

The new contract, which will have an estimated duration of 50 months, provides for the project execution, construction, assembly, commissioning, assisted operation and integration with the Duque de Caxias Refinery (“Reduc”) in Rio de Janeiro.

In addition, a five-month extension was also given to an ECB contract currently underway, worth 0.2 billion reais (around €35 million), which includes the provision of services for the collection, processing, final destination and disposal of the flexible lines from the “Submarine Storerooms” in the Campos Basin.

“With these contracts, Mota-Engil once again strengthens its order book, demonstrating that it is one of the main players in the Oil&Gas sector in Brazil, further sustaining its presence in Latin America”, the company said in a statement released before the market opened.
