The former leader of FC Porto, aged 87, had been battling prostate cancer since his diagnosis in 2021. Defeated by André Villas-Boas in the latest elections, he led the Porto club for 42 years.

Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa has passed away. The former president of Futebol Clube do Porto, who turned 87 on December 28, had been battling prostate cancer. The blue and white club confirmed his passing on the social media platform X with a message that simply reads: “An eternal inspiration. An immortal legacy. Farewell, President of Presidents“.
