Inflation up to 9.3% in September, highest since October 1992

The Consumer price inflation in Portugal accelerated to 9.3% in September, its highest level since December 1992, according to data released by Statistics Portugal (INE) this Friday.

According to Friday’s report from INE, “based on the information available until the date of the present press release, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) annual rate is estimated to have increased to 9.3% in September (8.9% in August).”

“This is the highest rate recorded since October 1992,” it adds.

The data is provisional. The final figures will be published on October 13.
