The Board of Directors of EDP Renováveis approved this Tuesday the appointment of Kay McCall as an independent member of that body.

The Board of Directors of EDP Renováveis approved on Tuesday the appointment of Kay McCall as independent member. The appointment will come into effect on June 1, 2022.

“The Board of Directors approved today the appointment by co-option of Mrs. Kay McCall as Independent member of the Board of Directors of EDPR, in order to fill the current vacancy,” the energy company said in a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities and Exchange Commission (CMVM).

The company led by Miguel Stilwell adds that Kay McCall will contribute “with her deep knowledge of the renewable industry, with special focus on the US market”. She will thus replace Joan Avalyn Dempsey, who resigned as independent director in January this year.

“This appointment will enter into effect on June 1st, 2022, and will be proposed for ratification to the next General Shareholders’ Meeting,” EDP’s subsidiary also signals.

The current board of EDP Renováveis currently has 12 members, of which Antonio Sarmento Gomes Mota is chairman, Miguel Stilwell accumulates the positions of vice chairman and CEO and Rui Teixeira is chief financial officer, according to the company’s website.
