New cases in 24 hours to Friday 47,199 with 50 more deaths

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, 2,445 people were in hospital on Friday with Covid-19, or five more than on Thursday, with 174 of them in intensive care units, 19 more.

Portugal has recorded 47,199 new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infections in the 24 hours to midnight on Thursday, as well as 50 more deaths associated with Covid-19 and a new increase in the number of patients in hospital with the disease, the national health authority, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), said on Friday.

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, 2,445 people were in hospital on Friday with Covid-19, or five more than on Thursday, with 174 of them in intensive care units, 19 more.

The number of active cases in Portugal increased again, for a current total of 642,793, or 680 more than on Thursday.

In the 24 hours in question, 46,469 people were reported as having recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total to 2,180,109.
