Emigrants’ remittances up 1.67% to €299.1M in November

According to Bank of Portugal data, Portuguese emigrants sent €299.14 million in November last year, representing a rise of 1.67% compared to the €294.2 million sent in November 2020.

Remittances from Portuguese emigrants rose 1.67% to €299.1 million in November, while foreigners working in Portugal sent €46.1 million, a rise of 6.9%, according to the Bank of Portugal.

According to Bank of Portugal data, Portuguese emigrants sent €299.14 million in November last year, representing a rise of 1.67% compared to the €294.2 million sent in November 2020.

Conversely, foreigners working in Portugal sent €46.17 million to their countries of origin, representing a rise of 6.9% compared to the €43.19 million sent in the same month of 2020.

Portuguese emigrants in Switzerland sent €88.05 million in November, up 13% on the €77.37 million sent in November 2020, while Portuguese in France sent €81.56 million, down 6.1% on the €86.92 million sent in November 2020.

Looking at the period from January to November 2020, Portuguese emigrants sent €3.305.9 billion, which represents a slight rise of 0.8% compared to the €3.277.1 billion sent between January and November 2021.
