People over 18 who received the Janssen ​vaccine against Covid-19 will be able to receive a booster dose 90 days after the first jab, the health authority )DGS) said on Thursday.

The measure was announced at a press conference by the Director-General of Health, Graça Freitas, who explained that there is no age limitation in the case of people who have received the single-dose vaccine from Janssen.

The booster dose, which will be from Pfizer or Moderna, can be administered after 90 days.

Covid-19 has caused at least 5,122,682 deaths worldwide, among more than 254.95 million infections by the new coronavirus recorded since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the latest balance sheet from the agency France-Presse.

In Portugal, since March 2020, 18,295 people have died, and 1,115,080 cases of infection have been counted, according to data from the Directorate-General of Health.
