GreenVolt starts operating in Bulgaria and Romania this week

GreenVolt announced Tuesday that it has started operations in Romania and Bulgaria, with 170 Megawatt (MW) and 200 MW projects, respectively, and that it has 410 MW co-development projects in Italy.

In a statement, a day after debuting on the PSI20, the company led by Manso Neto says it is “continuing its rapid expansion in markets with great potential for the development of wind and solar energy projects” through V-Ridium.

“In Italy, GreenVolt has in the ‘pipeline’ projects under development with other partners of 410 MW in solar and wind, a capacity that should be expanded to 1.7GW (Gigawatt) in co-development and own development.”

GreenVolt adds that in Bulgaria “operations kicked off this week, with the Sofia office fully operational and 200 MW of wind energy projects under development” and that in Romania “pursuing its development strategy, the company similarly starts operations this week, where it has high potential development plans, with a ‘pipeline’ of 170 MW in solar and wind energy projects.”

“GreenVolt has in the ‘pipeline’ about 3.6 GW of renewable energy production projects from sun and wind, in Poland, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, excluding Italy, where it has projects under co-development,” the statement said.

In the statement, GreenVolt noted that it “began its activity with the aggregation of several assets of energy production from biomass, forest surpluses and agro-forestry in December 2005” and that “it currently operates five thermoelectric power plants in Portugal using forest biomass, with around 978 MW of installed capacity, and a power plant to produce electricity through urban waste biomass in the United Kingdom, with around 42 MW.
