The Secretary of State for Health revealed that Portugal is close to reaching the milestone of 75% of the population fully vaccinated and 85% with at least one dose.

On a visit to the vaccination centre in Lordelo, the Secretary of State for Health Diogo Lopes announced this Friday that Portugal is about to reach new milestones in the vaccination process: 75% of the population fully vaccinated and 85% of the population with at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

“We will be reasonably close to reaching 85% of the population vaccinated with the first dose. In the two doses we will be very close to 75%”, said the Secretary of State for Health to RTP3, from Lordelo, in Paredes.

“There are no major doubts on this issue,” Diogo Lopes stated, referring to reaching this target before the end of September.

Vaccination in Portugal started on December 27 2020. Since then, the country has received over 17.4 million vaccines and distributed more than 15.1 million doses.
