Airport managers ANA wants to increase regulated charges in 2022
After reducing charges due to the pandemic, Portugal’s national airport management company (ANA) is now targeting a 1.5% increase in revenue compared to this year.
Portugal’s national airport management company (ANA) wants to update the regulated charges at all national airports next year, “with a view to an expected gradual recovery of air traffic in 2022.”
According to Jornal de Negócios, after the pandemic prompted the national airport manager to reduce charges, returning €54 million to its customers in 2020 and 2021, it now wants to revise the values upwards, pointing to an increase in revenue of 1.5% when comparing to this year.
The proposal is for an increase in the value per passenger of €0.44 in Lisbon, €0.49 in Porto, €0.90 in Faro, €0.08 in the Azores and €0.15 in Madeira. These increases are “in line with the international benchmark for airports of the same size,” the Vinci-owned company said.
