Ryanair, a major investor and employer in Portugal, said that these new positions are created with the delivery of 210 Boeing 737-8200 'Game Changer' aircraft to the group over the next few years.

The Irish airline Ryanair on Tuesday announced the launch of a campaign to recruit more than 300 pilots, cabin crew and IT (Information Technology) professionals for jobs at its Portuguese bases.

In a statement, the low-cost airline said that this campaign follows Ryanair’s announcement last week of a $300 million investment in Lisbon Airport. It will base three more aircraft from November – now seven in total – as part of its 2021 winter schedule.

Ryanair, a major investor and employer in Portugal, said that these new positions are created with the delivery of 210 Boeing 737-8200 ‘Game Changer’ aircraft to the group over the next few years.

In the statement, Ryanair also said that job offers for pilots and cabin crew would be available at the company’s bases in Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Ponta Delgada, as it continues to invest in the Portuguese regions with well-paid and secure jobs at a time when TAP is shrinking, cutting jobs and reducing connectivity, despite receiving taxpayers’ money in state aid.

Ryanair currently has an information technology hub (Ryanair LABS Lisbon), which operates virtually, allowing its employees (qualified IT professionals) to work 100% from home, it said, adding that this virtual office will be expanded in the coming years.

“Ryanair’s growing investments in Portugal will support the recovery of the Portuguese economy and the tourism industry, where Ryanair has invested […] and supports 10,000 indirect jobs, creating local jobs and contributing more than €138 million in taxes and government fees per year,” the Irish carrier said.
