EDP is the most valuable Portuguese brand in 2021

The top 25 most valuable Portuguese brands are led by EDP. It is followed by Galp Energia and Jerónimo Martins.

EDP is the Portuguese brand with the highest financial value (€2,850 million), according to a report by consultancy OnStratey published on Thursday. The brand that grew the most was Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD).

The study “Most Valuable Portuguese Brands 2021” reports the financial results of 2020 and took more than 200 Portuguese brands into account. The top 25 is led by EDP, with a financial value of €2,850 million, which represents a growth of over 10%.

Also on the podium are Galp Energia (€1,562 million, up 22.6%) and Jerónimo Martins (€912 million, down 0.3%).

Despite a year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, only eight of the 25 most valuable companies saw their value fall compared to the previous report. Just one (Sport Lisboa e Benfica) maintained the same results as the year before. The majority saw their financial value grow. However, the greatest growth was seen in Caixa Geral de Depósitos, with a 48.9% increase to €636 million.
