Number of Covid-19 cases increases 2.1%. Death toll at 1,114

The new coronavirus has already infected more than 27,000 people in Portugal and caused the death of 1,114 people.

Portugal has registered 553 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 2.1% over the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 27,268. The latest bulletin by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) also reports nine more deaths from the Covid-19 virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,114.

By midnight on Monday, the country has registered over 27,000 cases of people infected with the coronavirus. Of all these cases, 842 are hospitalized, of which 127 are in intensive care, the DGS bulletin shows. But there are still 2,984 people waiting for laboratory results and 26,829 are under surveillance by Portugal’s health authorities.

There are already 2,422 cases recovered in the country, a number that continues to increase, having registered an increase of 165 people compared to the previous bulletin.
