EDP also intends to issue a new series of euro-denominated fixed to reset rate subordinated notes, subject to market conditions.

Energias de Portugal (EDP) on Monday launched a debt offering totalling €1 billion, maturing in 2079, and a new issue of green subordinated debt, the company announced in a statement sent to the Securities Markets Commission (CMVM).

“An invitation was launched today to submit offers for the sale in cash of the debt securities identified below [1,000 million euros maturing in 2079], subject to acceptance by EDP and to certain terms, conditions and limits set out in the respective ‘Tender Offer Memorandum’,” reads a statement from the company posted on the CMVM website.

Among these factors, it said, is the “successful placement of the issue” of new subordinated green notes that EDP also intends to issue.
