TAP anniversary celebrates country’s efforts – minister
The minister of infrastructure and housing said that the celebration of TAP's anniversary also represents the strength of a "considerable part" of the country.
Portugal’s minister of infrastructure and housing said on Monday that the celebration of TAP’s anniversary also represents the strength of a “considerable part” of the country, which worked to prevent the company’s closure.
“This is a great historical moment that rewards the resilience and determination and strength of many people from a considerable part of the country,” said Pedro Nuno Santos, at the opening of the exhibition commemorating TAP’s 77th anniversary at the Air Museum in Sintra.
For the minister, this was “a very important date” and one “of the most important” from a professional point of view.
The minister also recalled that “many bet on the end of TAP and wished for it,” stressing that in the history of Portugal there have always been people afraid to move forward.
