Portuguese magazine publisher hit by cyber-attack

"Trust in News, the company that owns Visão and 14 other information brands, was this early morning the target of an attempted cyber-attack," the group revealed in a statement.

Trust in News, which owns Visão magazine and 14 other titles, “was this morning the target of an attempted cyber-attack”, but “no critical systems were compromised,” the media company said on Wednesday.

“Trust in News, the company that owns Visão and 14 other information brands, was this early morning the target of an attempted cyber-attack,” the group revealed in a statement posted on the magazine’s website.

“The alert and security systems were immediately activated and the situation is being evaluated, but no critical systems were compromised,” Trust in News added, noting that “the brands’ sites are all operational.”

This attempt at “illegal intrusion has been reported to the competent authorities,” the statement said.

On Monday, Vodafone Portugal was the target of an unprecedented cyber-attack that is affecting its network.

On January 2, the Impresa group, owner of SIC and Expresso, was the target of a cyber-attack.
