Mota-Engil wins contracts worth $261 million in Uganda

In a statement sent to CMVM, Mota-Engil states that the contract with the highest value, of $162.4 million, was awarded under the Tilenga Upstream Development project for the client TotalEnergies.

Mota-Engil said Thursday that its subsidiary Mota-Engil Uganda limited has been awarded three contracts worth $261 million.

In a statement sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CMVM), Mota-Engil states that the contract with the highest value, of $162.4 million, was awarded under the Tilenga Upstream Development project for the client TotalEnergies, a project included in the most significant investment programme to occur in Uganda in the Energy sector, corresponding to a phase called “Site preparation for Enabling Infrastructure Wellpads”.

Besides the contract already mentioned, two other contracts were also awarded in the same project, by TotalEnergies for the “Site preparation for Enabling Infrastructure – Industrial Area”, valued at $37.9 million, and by TotalEnergies’ EPC, McDermott in consortium with Sinopec, for the “Upstream Facilities – General Civil Works” phase”, valued at $60.3 million.

 

“With these awards, the GROUP sees its performance in the energy infrastructures sector recognised and its order book strengthened in the region with contracts worth $261 million for one of the most relevant players in that sector in the world and namely in Africa,” the company stated.
