The bank's closure was approved on March 21, and has since been confirmed by the Finance Ministry, and a liquidation commission has been appointed.

The liquidation of Banco Efisa was officially approved at a general meeting by Parparticipadas, the company that manages the financial holdings of the former BPN, reports Jornal de Negócios.

According to the newspaper, the bank’s closure was approved on March 21, and has since been confirmed by the Ministry of Finance and a liquidation commission has been appointed. Now the Bank of Portugal (BoP) has to give the “green light” to the liquidation plan.

It should be noted that since 2015, this bank, which is currently in the hands of the state, has been the subject of three selling attempts, but they never came to fruition.
