For the leader of the PS parliamentary group, the Resolution Fund “should consider legal action against the bank’s management”, after the public release of several wiretapped conversations, from the Red Card process, that reveal evidence of the relationship between the bank’s CEO and the former president of Benfica, reports Jornal Económico.
According to information that has been revealed as part of the process, António Ramalho reportedly met with Luís Filipe Vieira to help him prepare to face the parliamentary commission of enquiry on the bank’s major debtors. This situation even led to an investigation by the European Central Bank.
For socialist deputy João Paulo Correia, this behaviour could result in the crime of qualified disobedience before the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry.
