33,340 Covid-19 cases, 28 deaths, fewer in hospital in last 24 hours
According to the daily report of the epidemiological situation released by DGS, there are now 1,564 patients in hospital, 24 fewer than on Monday, and 153 in Intensive Care Units, eight fewer.
Portugal has recorded 33,340 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, 28 more deaths associated with Covid-19 and a decrease in hospitalisation and intensive care in the last 24 hours, according to data from the health authority (DGS).
According to the daily report of the epidemiological situation released by DGS, there are now 1,564 patients in hospital, 24 fewer than on Monday, and 153 in Intensive Care Units, eight fewer.
Active cases have decreased in the last 24 hours, totalling 269,451, 10,201 fewer than on Monday, and 43,513 people have recovered from the disease, which increases the national total of recovered to 1,404,786.
Of the 28 deaths, one of which was between 20 and 29 years old, 10 occurred in the North region, nine in Lisbon and Tagus Valley, three in the Centre region, four in the Algarve, one in the Alentejo and one in Madeira.
Contrary to what has happened in recent weeks, the North was the region with the most new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours, 13,253, followed by Lisbon and Tagus Valley (12,390), the Centre (3,907), Madeira (2,136), the Alentejo (725), the Algarve (686) and the Azores (243).
According to DGS data, 20 of the 28 fatalities were over 80 years old, three were in the 70 to 79 age group, one between 60 and 69 years old, two between 50 and 59 years old, one between 40 and 49 years old and another between 20 and 29 years old.
