Airport movements in July more than double in 12 months
National airports received 2.8 million passengers in July, more than double the passengers received in the same period in 2020.
The movement at national airports more than doubled in July compared to the same period last year, to 2.8 million passengers, but fell 55.8% compared to 2019, according to a highlight from Statistics Portugal (INE).
“In July 2021, the movement of 2.8 million passengers was recorded at Portuguese airports, and the movement of cargo and mail totalled 16,500 tonnes (+116.1% and 71.9%, compared to July 2020, respectively,” reads the rapid statistics of air transport, released by INE.
Compared to July 2019, passenger traffic fell 55.8%, while cargo and mail dropped 10.3%.
