Aquila Capital has signed a series of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and representation services with Axpo Iberia for a 25 megawatt (MW) solar PV portfolio (composed of four solar photovoltaic plants) located in Portugal, the company announced on Wednesday.
According to the two companies, Axpo Iberia will provide representation services for the plants and will purchase 100% renewable energy from Aquila Capital, an investment company.
This specific solar PV portfolio is part of Aquila Capital’s portfolio of around 700 MW in Portugal.
The portfolio, with an installed capacity of around 25 MW, will produce around 58 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of solar energy per year, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 11,000 Portuguese households and the saving of a volume of emissions of over 12,000 tonnes of CO2.
With the signing of the last PPA, Aquila Capitals secures a series of long-term Power Purchase Agreements, with a duration of between five and seven years.
