Last 24 hours see 2,170 more Covid-19 cases, fewer in ICU

There are now 613 people in hospital, and 133 are in intensive care units, three fewer than on Monday.

Portugal on Tuesday recorded 2,170 more cases of Covid-19, on a day without changes in hospitalisations, which are in 613, and there are three fewer patients in intensive care, a total of 133.

According to Tuesday’s epidemiological bulletin of the country’s national health authority, the DGS, in the last 24 hours, there was one death attributed to Covid-19, recorded in the North region, bringing the number of deaths in Portugal to a total of 17,118.

There are now 613 people in hospital, and 133 are in intensive care units, three fewer than on Monday.

Lisbon and Tagus Valley, with 1,151 new cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has 53% of the total number of cases recorded in the last 24 hours.

The data released on Tuesday by the DGS also showed that the country has 341 fewer active cases, totalling 38,488, with 2,510 people recovering from the disease on the last day.

The number of contacts under surveillance increased from 59,442 to 64,022.
