Portugal imposes night-time curfew in several municipalities
This new measure applies to all Portuguese in these municipalities regardless of whether they have a digital Covid certificate or a negative test.
The Portuguese government decided to implement a night-time curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m in 45 municipalities with a high and very high risk of Covid-19 transmission. This measure applies to all Portuguese in these areas regardless of whether they have a digital Covid certificate or a negative test.
The cabinet office minister, Mariana Vieira da Silva, points out that the “situation has deteriorated again”, so in view of the current context “in high and very high-risk municipalities, there will be a limitation of movement on public roads, from 11 p.m,” she announced after today’s cabinet meeting.
The 26 municipalities in the country at high risk, for having registered an incidence of 120 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (or more than 240 cases, in the case of municipalities with low population density) in two consecutive assessments, are: Alcochete, Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos, Avis, Braga, Castelo de Vide, Faro, Grândola, Lagoa, Lagos, Montijo, Odemira, Palmela, Paredes de Coura, Portimão, Porto, Rio Maior, Santarém, São Brás de Alportel, Sardoal, Setúbal, Silves, Sines, Sousel, Torres Vedras and Vila Franca de Xira.
At last, the 19 municipalities with a very high risk of contagion, with an incidence of 120 cases per 100,000 population (or more than 240 cases) for two consecutive assessments, are: Albufeira, Almada, Amadora, Barreiro, Cascais, Constância, Lisboa, Loulé, Loures, Mafra, Mira, Moita, Odivelas, Oeiras, Olhão, Seixal, Sesimbra, Sintra e Sobral de Monte Agraço.
