Lisbon area weekend travel ban reimposed
People who have a digital certificate or negative test will be able to enter and leave the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML).
A ban on movement into or out of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) is to be reimposed this weekend, but with people who have a digital certificate showing that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or immune after recovering from it, or a negative result from a recent coronavirus test, are excepted, the Portuguese government announced this Thursday.
Speaking at a news conference following the day’s cabinet meeting, the cabinet office minister, Mariana Vieira da Silva, said that the ban on entering or leaving the AML is to be in force from 3 p.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Monday, except for essential trips as foreseen under the law.
However, according to the minister, people who have a digital certificate or negative test will be able to enter and leave the AML.
