With this new contract, EDP Renováveis (EDPR) now has 426 MW of assured capacity in the neighbouring country.

EDP Renováveis (EDPR) signed another Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Spain. This new PPA will increase to 426 MW the capacity provided by the Portuguese company in the neighbouring country.

In a statement sent to CMVM, the company reveals it has “secured a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) for 20 MW in Spain, avoiding estimated annual emissions of c.20 thousand tons of CO2”. This “project is expected to commence operations in 2023.”

“With this new agreement, EDPR has now 426 MW of capacity secured in Spain set to enter in operation from 2021 onwards,” EDP Renováveis stresses.

“EDPR’s success in securing new PPAs reinforces its growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with a low-risk profile fostering the acceleration of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the economy,” the Portuguese company explained.
