Covid-19 new cases inching downwards

The Statistics Portugal (INE) announced this Friday that Portugal this week had the lowest daily average of new cases of coronavirus ​​​​​​​infections since the end of December.

Portugal this week had the lowest daily average of new cases of coronavirus ​​​​​​​infections since December 31, according to data released on Friday by Statistics Portugal (INE).

In the weekly indicators on the pandemic, the INE recorded on Wednesday a total of 29,511 cases in the previous seven days, corresponding to 4,216 new cases on average per day, “the lowest number since December 31 2020”.

“The number of new cases confirmed in the previous seven days has been falling since January 28,” INE added.

On February 10, there was an incidence rate of 903 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the previous 14 days, below the maximum of 1,667 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants reached on 29 January.
