2,505 new cases and 196 deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 2,505 new cases.

There are 2,505 new cases of coronavirus compared to Sunday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 767,919. 196 people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 6,344  inpatients, 877 of them in intensive care units. There are over 180,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 14,354 people, 196 of them in the last 24 hours.
