7,259 new cases and 155 deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 7,259 new cases.

There are 7,259 new cases of coronavirus compared to Monday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 496,552. 155 people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 4,043 inpatients, 599 of them in intensive care units. There are over 125,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 8,080 people, 155 of them in the last 24 hours.
