New record in Portugal: 3,270 new cases and 16 deaths by Covid-19

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 3,270 new cases.

There are 3,270 new cases of coronavirus compared to Wednesday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 109,541. 16 people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). This is a daily increase of over 3%, making a new historical maximum in the daily reports of new cases in Portugal.

Of the total number of infected, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 1,365 inpatients, 200 of them in intensive care units. There are over 55,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 2,245 people, 16 of them in the last 24 hours.
