944 new cases and eight more deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and in the last 24 hours, there have been 944 new cases.

There are 944 new cases of coronavirus compared to Tuesday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 81,256. Eight people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of infected, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 764 inpatients, 104 of them in intensive care units. There are over 45,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 2,040 people, eight of them in the last 24 hours.
