899 new cases and five more deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and in the last 24 hours, there have been 899 new cases.

There are 899 new cases of coronavirus compared to Monday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 72,055. Three people have died in the last 24 hours. The Lisbon and Tagus Valley region continues to concentrate the largest number of new infections, with 56% of the total.

Of the total number of infected, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 624 inpatients, 86 of them in intensive care units. There are over 42,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 1,936 people, three of them in the last 24 hours. The number of recovered is currently at 47,003.
