Two more deaths, 418 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

418 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been identified in the last 24 hours. Two people died with Covid-19.

Portugal’s Directorate-General for Health (DGS) identified on Wednesday 418 new cases of infection by Covid-19, bringing the total number of infected to 59,051. The number of deaths rose to 1,829 after two more deaths were counted in the last 24 hours.

Most of the new cases have been registered in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region again. Of the 418 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, 207 were registered in Lisbon (49.5% of the total), followed by the North region, which registered 177 new infections (42.3%).

As for the clinical characterization, most infected people are recovering at home, having this moment 334 inpatients (three less than the previous day), 44 of them in intensive care units (three more than yesterday). There are still 34,197 people under the supervision of the health authorities, i.e. 283 more than on Wednesday’s bulletin.
