Lisbon and the Tagus Valley again concentrate the largest number of new infections, according to the latest update from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
Portugal has registered 399 new cases of infection by Covid-19, bringing the number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic to 56,673. In the last 24 hours, two more people have died from the disease, according to the latest update by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). Among the confirmed cases of infection since the beginning of the pandemic, there are now 13,507 active, 224 more than the previous day. Since it appeared in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has already caused the death of 1,809 people. As for the number recovered, it continues to rise, standing at 41,357.
Treatment at home remains the course of choice for most people infected with the virus. There are 317 people in the hospital, 35 of whom are in intensive care.
