Two deaths and 362 new cases of Covid-19 in Portugal

Lisbon and the Tagus Valley again concentrate the largest number of new infections, according to the latest update from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Portugal has registered 362 new cases of infection by Covid-19, bringing the number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic to 55,912. In the last 24 hours, two more people have died from the disease, according to the latest update by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). Lisbon and Tagus Valley again concentrate the largest number of new infections.

Among the confirmed cases of infection since the beginning of the pandemic, there are now 13,283 active, 197 more than the previous day. Since it appeared in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has already caused the death of 1,807 people. The number of people recovered continues to rise, standing at 41,184 (163 more in the last 24 hours).

Treatment at home remains the course of choice for most people infected with the virus. There are 311 people in hospital (14 fewer than in the previous report), 38 of whom are in intensive care (three fewer than yesterday). There are also 33,782 contacts under the supervision of the health authorities.
