The number of cases of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 44,129. Since the outbreak was detected in the country, 1,620 people have died.
Portugal has registered 232 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 0.53% compared to the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 44,129.
In the last 24 hours, six more people have died from the disease, according to the latest update from Portugal’s health authorities (DGS). With these fatalities, the country’s death toll rises to 1,620.
Since mid-May, the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region has concentrated the biggest concerns and is currently the region with the highest number of confirmed cases since the outbreak was detected in the country. 195 new cases have been identified in this region, representing about 84.05% of the national total.
