António Mexia risks being suspended as chairman of EDP
Further inquiries will be made with a view to aggravating the coercive measures.
António Mexia, executive chairman of EDP, João Manso Neto, director of EDP and executive chairman of EDP Renováveis, and João Conceição, executive director of REN, risk seeing their functions suspended, in the context of the EDP case, advances the Observador.
Further inquiries will be made with a view to aggravating the coercive measures, which are currently at the minimum level. The judge Carlos Alexandre will decide the degree of the measures, which may range from a bail deposit to temporary duty suspensions, which is the most serious option.
The three will be heard between June 2 and 4 in the Central Court of Criminal Investigation, according to Correio da Manhã, being the first time that Mexia and Manso Neto will be questioned in court after being constituted defendants. The new information that led to the inquiries is related to prizes and benefits that the leaders will have received.
