Number of Covid-19 cases increases 0.8%. Death toll at 1,277

The last DGS report counts 252 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus in 24 hours. 14 people have died from the disease since yesterday.

Portugal has registered 252  new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 0.8% over the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 29,912.

Of the total number of infected by the coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with only 608 being hospitalized, of which 92 in intensive care. There are 2,125 people awaiting laboratory results and over 22,000 under surveillance by health authorities.

Since it appeared in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 1,277 people, 14 of them in the last 24 hours.

In an analysis by municipalities, Lisbon has the highest number of cases (2,076), ahead of Vila Nova de Gaia (1,529), Porto (1,336), Matosinhos (1,250), Braga (1,199) and Gondomar (1,065).
