Number of Covid-19 cases increases 0.7%. Death toll at 1,247

The last DGS report counts 223 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus in 24 hours. 16 people have died from the disease since yesterday.

Portugal has registered 223 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 0.7% over the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 29,432.

In the last 24 hours, further 16 people died due to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,247, according to the latest Directorate-General for Health (DGS) report.

The epidemiological bulletin released today also shows stabilization of the number of patients who have already recovered. Until today, 6,431 people recovered from Covid-19 in Portugal, one more than yesterday.

The North, which has been the most punished region since the beginning of the public health crisis, has 16,472 confirmed cases, with the number of deaths already at 707. It is followed by the region of Lisbon with 8,480 cases and 282 deaths.
