Number of Covid-19 cases increases 0.7%. Death toll at 1,074

Health authorities have identified 178 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus. 11 people died from Covid-19 on the last day.

Portugal has registered 178 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 0.7% over the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 25,702.

By midnight on Monday, Portugal has registered over 25,000 cases of people infected with coronavirus. Of all these cases, 818 are hospitalized, of which 143 are in intensive care, the DGS bulletin shows. But there are still 2,760 people waiting for laboratory results and 25,066 under surveillance by health authorities.

Since it appeared in the country at the beginning of March, the disease has already caused the death of 1,074 people. In the last 24 hours, there have been 11 deaths.

The North, which has been the most punished region since the beginning of the public health crisis, has 15,199 confirmed cases and 613 deaths. It is followed by the region of Lisbon with 6,241 infected and 223 deaths, and the region of Centro with 3,484 infected and 211 deaths.
