Cases of Covid-19 rise to 1,020. There are six deaths

The number of those infected with coronavirus increased to 1,020, 235 more than this Thursday.

The number of people infected by the new coronavirus rose to 1,020, an increase of 235 compared to this Thursday, announced the Directorate General for Health (DGS). So far, six fatalities have been confirmed, plus three considering the latest data.

According to official information, of the 1,020 confirmed cases, 506 are in the country’s north, 361 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo area, 106 in Centro, 29 in the Algarve and two in the Alentejo area. As regards the autonomous regions, there is one confirmed case in Madeira and three in the Azores. Of the total number of “imported” cases, the majority were citizens who came from Spain (31), followed by France (24) and Italy (20).

The epidemiological bulletin released this Friday also points to 7,732 suspected cases and 850 people waiting for a laboratory result. There are 9,008 people under surveillance, namely because they have been in contact with people infected by the new coronavirus. Of all those infected so far, five have recovered.
