Porto airport voted best in Europe in 2018

Porto's Airport, Francisco Sá Carneiro, was voted the best in Europe in 2018 in the category of 5 to 15 million passengers a year, ANA announced this Monday.

Portugal’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto, was voted the best in Europe in 2018 in the category of 5 to 15 million passengers a year, an official source from airport operator ANA-Aeroportos announced on Monday.

The award is based on a report by Airport Service Quality Survey (ASQ) carried out on passengers considering “34 indicators,” namely the services offered by airports in terms of waiting time, staff courtesy, cleanliness and comfort.

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, which is managed by ANA/VINCI Airports, offers “excellent accessibility, direct links to 79 cities and exemplary service,” was voted in 2017 as the second best in Europe in the category of over 2 million passengers a year, according to ANA.

“We are proud to know that our passengers once again chose us as one of the best airports in Europe. This is our 12th award in the past thirteen years, consolidating Porto airport at the highest levels of international excellence”, said Thierry Ligonnière, chief operating officer and director of ANA.

In 2018, Porto airport handled 11.9 million passengers, a 10.7% growth compared to 2017.
