Adolfo Domínguez will prioritise profitability this year as Portugal, its third-largest market, continues to grow for the listed fashion group.

Adolfo Domínguez will focus on improving profitability rather than driving sales growth this year, CEO Adriana Domínguez told ECO in an interview, a signal that matters for investors and suppliers as Portugal remains the Spanish fashion group’s third-largest market.

The listed company, which employs nearly 1,000 people, posted revenue of €139 million between March 2025 and February 2026 and net profit of €1.64 million, according to the interview. Domínguez said the priority now is to work on margins and make the business “as profitable as possible”, adding that the main cost pressure is currently in logistics rather than raw materials.

Portugal has been one of the group’s strongest markets. The company has operated in the country for 32 years and increased revenue there by 64% over the past four years, while expanding its store network. It now has 22 points of sale in Portugal, with Braga the latest opening, and works with seven Portuguese textile manufacturers that produce around 50 clothing references per collection, depending on the season.

Domínguez said Portugal is also important to the group’s production model because of the quality and sustainability standards of its textile industry. The company has at times sourced as much as 40% of its roughly 1,200 annual product references from Portugal, although she said that share is currently lower. She added that proximity helps offset logistics pressures.
