The project is only expected to come online in 2027, but it will strengthen EDPR's presence in the US, where it has 3.4 GW of solar capacity in operation or under construction.

EDP Renováveis (EDPR) has signed a new energy sales contract in Indiana, USA. The agreement covers the sale of solar energy to a global technology company for 15 years.

“EDP Renováveis, S.A. (EDPR) has signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a global technology company for the sale of renewable energy produced by a 200 MWac (279 MWdc) solar project in White County, Indiana, United States of America (USA)”, reads the statement released to the market on Monday.

The project is only expected to come online in 2027, but it will strengthen EDPR’s presence in the USA, where it has 3.4 GW of solar capacity in operation or under construction.

“With this agreement, EDP reaffirms its commitment to a low-risk profile and a growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with long-term visibility, offering competitive and reliable renewable energy generation solutions”, adds the company led by Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade.

This is yet another energy sales contract added to those that EDP Renováveis has been signing in recent days. At the end of last week, the electricity company announced the signing of two long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Energa Obrót, presented as one of the largest companies in the energy sector in Poland, relating to a portfolio of 322 MW with an estimated annual production of 0.6 TWh. And, hours earlier, EDP Renováveis and Engie had announced the sale of a 20.25% minority stake in a wind farm in France to Allianz Global Investors for €200 million.
