VW to start producing iD.Elegancy 1 electric car in Portugal by 2027
Bloomberg quotes the CEO of Volkswagen as saying in comments to journalists at the company's headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany, that production of the model should begin within two years.
German car manufacturer Volkswagen announced on Monday that it will produce its new iD.Elegancy 1 electric car in Portugal within two years, according to media reports.
Bloomberg quotes the CEO of Volkswagen Thomas Schäfer, as saying in comments to journalists at the company’s headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany, that production of the model should begin within two years.
The Volkswagen iD.Elegancy is 3.880 metres long, 1.816 metres wide and 1.490 metres high, according to the company.
This electric model has a top speed of 130 kilometres per hour and a minimum range of 250 kilometres.
Autoeuropa, in Palmela, south of Lisbon, is Volkswagen’s sole production unit in Portugal and one of its largest. It is also the largest foreign investment in Portugal.
