The Portuguese venture capital firm has launched a new fund, the Opportunity Fund.

Indico Capital Partners has another €25 million to invest in startups. The Portuguese venture capital firm has launched a new fund, the Opportunity Fund, which will inject up to five million additional euros into companies that already belong to its portfolio. Indico, with this new fund, will invest between 100,000 and €10 million for each startup from the pre-seed phase.

“We have been privileged to have the support of individual and institutional investors from all over the world since 2019, both Portuguese and foreign. The market slowdown was expected a few years ago, and our portfolio is generally in a suitable position to face the current conditions. The launch of the Opportunity Fund in the current market is perfect as it gives us a greater possibility to support a limited group of our most promising companies,” emphasises Indico’s CEO, Stephan Morais.

With this new fund, Indico now has €141 million in funds to invest in startups: €91 million for tech companies and €50 million for companies linked to the blue economy. Since 2019, Indico has already placed over €36 million in 29 companies. The portfolio of the Portuguese venture capital firm has already raised €1.7 billion.
